Planning a trip to Phuket, Thailand? Let me start by saying you have made the right choice – Phuket is truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited throughout my whole career, and it’s super easy to reach by plane, too. Especially if it’s your first time visiting Thailand, Phuket is a great way to start your Thailand adventure. I’ve picked out four of my personal favourites from the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand – two in Patong and two in Old Town. There are, of course, tons more incredible places to stay, but these ones really stood out to me and I have great memories from each of them. Whether you’re after a dreamy private pool villa, a stunning jungle retreat, or a laid-back community vibe, these really are some of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand, and I hope there is something for everyone.
1. Panwaburi Beachfront Resort - The Most Viral Hotel in Phuket
First on the list of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand, is Panwaburi Beachfront Resort. It’s completely viral – and for good reason. The long integrated pool is the absolute star here, stretching throughout the entire hotel and surrounded by so much greenery, it feels like a tropical jungle. They also have their famous glass kayaks floating around the pool, and they are free to use and take incredible pictures with. And talking about pictures, Panwaburi Beachfront Resort is hands down the most photogenic hotel in Phuket – and everybody knows it. Therefore, it may be tricky to get a booking, as this hotel is an absolute dream for content creators, so do book well ahead.
The rooms: Spacious with a comfy nautical vibe. Considering the hotel is fairly affordable, I wouldn’t expect luxury, but they are definitely comfortable and very clean. If you get lucky, you may even be able to overlook the entire pool from your room, which is a treat.
Facilities: I’d describe them as somewhat basic but more than enough. People really stay here for the long pool and the infinity pool rather than the onsite restaurant. The food is good, the service is great, and the fruit juices are yummy, and that was enough for me when I stayed – plus they even have a small gym for those who want to stay fit.
Location: It’s a driving distance from Phuket Old Town, and it takes around 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Overall, it’s not the most convenient location if you’re looking to explore the whole of Phuket or party in Patong, but if you’re after a short fun break with fun cafes like Flamingo Bar within walking distance, this is your hotel. Note: The beach here isn’t great, so you’ll end up staying at the gorgeous infinity pool all the time – which could be worse. 😉
Pricing: Mid to low-range. Expect to pay a reasonable price for the comfort and views on offer, making it an ideal option for you, if you’re looking for a unique experience without the high-end price tag. Trust me, it’s worth every penny! For those in search of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand, that are unique but affordable, Panwaburi Beachfront Resort is for you.
2. Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket - Phuket’s Hotel in the Jungle
Next up on the list of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand is Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket. If you’re looking for a proper jungle escape, this is honestly the perfect place for you. The private villas are perched up in the hills, and the only way to get to them is by lift (or stairs but that’s just boring) – it’s such a unique experience as they’ve got this fun lift integrated into the hills, I’ve never really seen this before! Waking up to lush greenery and the sounds of nature is pure bliss. The vibe here is super tranquil, and it’s the perfect spot for anyone wanting to disconnect and recharge. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but with the private hillside villas and exceptional service, it’s worth every penny. My most asked question about this hotel always is: Are there mosquitos? And the answer is: Absolutely, yes! 🤣 My only advice is to stay indoors during sunrise and sunset and of course, use plenty of repellent.
The rooms: Spacious, modern and woody with beautiful jungle views. The design is sleek with a soft boho vibe to it, and the private villas are perfect for relaxing or a romantic stay. To me it was the perfect place to really feel like you’re away from it all. The most expensive price category even offers a double-story room with private infinity pool overlooking Patong Beach and an outdoor bath and terrace - I mean wow 🤩
Facilities: While the focus here is more on the villas and the surrounding nature, there’s still plenty to enjoy. The resort has a great restaurant with incredibly delicious Thai food, a stunning communal pool and there’s even a super-luxury spa for some extra pampering. To me it was all about slowing down and soaking in the jungle atmosphere. Pro tip: Order their yummy afternoon tea to your room, it’s truly special and delicious.
Location: The resort is nestled up in the hills above Patong Beach, offering a peaceful and secluded escape and it’s only about 15-20-minute walk to Patong Beach and other popular areas. So, while it’s a tiny bit more isolated, it’s the perfect base if you’re looking for a retreat away from the crowds and one of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand - luxury edition.
Pricing: High-end luxury. While it’s an investment, the stunning villas and unique location make Dinso Resort one of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand for a luxury escape. I’d recommend a stay here for something like a honeymoon, babymoon or any other special occasion.
3. Crest Resort & Pool Villas - Phuket’s Most Luxury Hotel
For the ultimate in luxury escape in Phuket, check out Crest Resort & Pool Villas. This is one of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand if you’re looking for truly unique private pool villas. The panoramic views of the Andaman Sea are incredible. We loved the resort’s focus on sustainability and eco-conscious luxury, the service (the staff was incredible and probably best from this entire list), and the privacy and private areas this hotel offers.
The rooms: The private pool villas look a little bit like luxury hobbit-style houses, except for the fact that everything is super spacious, of course. If you want to splurge, stay in one of their premier panorama pool villas. I’ve never seen an infinity pool that looks like this and again, they are SO private, you might as well be here alone.
Facilities: Everything here is the best of the best - honestly, from the beautiful infinity pool to the on-site restaurant offering delicious international and Thai cuisine. The fitness centre has tons of offers for classes beyond normal use, and their rooftop bar is one of a kind. We loved the stunning views of the Andaman Sea and the breakfast buffet.
Location: Nestled on a hill above Patong Beach, the resort is about a 15-minute drive from Patong high street. Therefore, it’s perfect for you if you’re looking for a peaceful and luxurious retreat with super easy access to the crazy fun party areas of Phuket. Crest Resort & Pool Villas is truly one of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand.
Pricing: High-end luxury. This hotel is not cheap, but if you’re after a luxurious, private, and unforgettable stay with incredible service, it’s worth every cent.
4. HOMA Phuket Town - The Best Community-Oriented Hotel in Phuket
For a more relaxed, community-oriented vibe, HOMA Phuket Town is where you should stay. It’s one of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand if you want something that feels homey and welcoming but super stylish at the same time. The massive rooftop infinity pool with stunning views of the town was my personal favourite feature – it’s the perfect spot to chill after a day of exploring, read a book, or meet fellow travellers. The location is also fab, just a short walk from Phuket Old Town, where you can enjoy the colourful streets, amazing street food markets and the best massage parlours. I personally loved the design of the hotel; there are tons of plants and palm trees everywhere, and it feels like a tropical paradise, even though it’s a pretty big hotel overall. HOMA is perfect for travellers looking for a more local, authentic experience without sacrificing any modern comforts. While it’s budget-friendly, it doesn’t skip thoughtful details that make it a great choice for anyone looking for the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand.
The rooms: The rooms are simple but super comfy, with modern amenities and a relaxed atmosphere. The design is minimalist and colourful, and I slept very, very well here. Some rooms even offer great views of the town, the pool, or other cool parts of the hotel.
Facilities: The standout feature is definitely the humongous rooftop infinity pool, offering gorgeous views over the town. The onsite restaurant serves up tasty food, and there’s a small gym for those who want to stay active – I actually tried it out and loved it. The equipment was super clean and modern, and everyone there was lovely. There’s also a café that serves fresh coffee and light bites – perfect for a relaxed start to your day as they make incredible egg dishes. Everything is well thought out, adding to the overall relaxed vibe, with attention to sustainability as well.
Location: It’s located in Phuket Town, just a short walk from the colourful Old Town area. You’re close to amazing local food, markets, and culture, making it a fab choice if you want to explore beyond the beaches and party areas. HOMA is definitely one of the best hotels in Phuket, Thailand if you want to be at the heart of it all, with easy access to local attractions and hidden gems in the town, whilst being able to mingle with other travellers a lot.
Pricing: Mid-range. It’s affordable while still offering great amenities and a fantastic location, making it a perfect choice if you’re looking for value without sacrificing comfort.

Exploring Las Olas Hostel in Copacabana, Bolivia: Alpacas and Unforgettable Views of Lake Titicaca
Nestled in the hills of Copacabana, Bolivia, Las Olas Hostel is one of the most memorable places I’ve ever stayed at. With quirky, artistic rooms, panoramic views of Lake Titicaca, and alpacas wandering freely around the grounds, this place has so much personality. Trust me - you’re going to fall in love with it. Here is everything you need to know about Las Olas:

With quirky, artistic rooms, panoramic views of Lake Titicaca, and alpacas wandering freely around the grounds, this place has so much personality. Trust me - you’re going to fall in love with it. Here is everything you need to know about Las Olas:
Unique Rooms at Las Olas Hostel in Copacabana, Bolivia
One of my favourite things about Las Olas Hostel is the rooms. Each one is literally a work of art, with dome shapes, hobbit-like doors, and whimsical staircases that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a fairytale - or into a dream quite frankly. We stayed in a cosy dome room with amazing views, and I absolutely loved all the little details. It’s hard not to feel inspired here! Every room has its own unique vibe, and honestly, you’ll want to peek inside them all. Good to know: Most rooms have a private bathroom and kitchenette, and if yours doesn’t, there is a communal kitchen and bathroom with free drinking water.
Meet the Free-Roaming Alpacas at Las Olas Hostel, Bolivia 🦙
Yes, the rumours are true - there are alpacas! They are adorable and roam freely around the property - think natural lawn mowers. It was such a cute surprise to wake up and find them grazing outside our door or wandering up for a quick hello. I loved that they were so comfortable around people and seemed happy just being part of the scene. This was honestly one of the highlights of our stay and I sort of still miss them 🥰
Incredible Lake Titicaca Views from Las Olas Hostel
Now, let’s talk about the views - they are absolutely jaw-dropping! Las Olas is set on a hill, so it gives you beautiful views of Lake Titicaca that you won’t forget. Sunrises and sunsets are pure magic here, and trust me, Lake Titicaca is the bluest lake you’ll ever see! We got lucky and had a room with direct lake views from our bed - wow 🤩
A Word of Warning: High Altitude in Copacabana
One thing I wish we’d been more prepared for was the altitude. Copacabana sits at over 3,800 meters (12,500 feet), and if you’re not used to such crazy heights, it can be a bit of a shock. We felt it - headaches, a little breathlessness, and the need to slow down. It was kinda tricky as Las Olas is set above the town, so lots and lots of stairs are involved. Therefore I’d definitely take it easy for the first day or two, drink lots of water, and try coca tea (it’s a local favourite for a reason!).
Perfect Location to Explore Copacabana, Bolivia
Las Olas Hostel’s location was ideal for exploring everything Copacabana has to offer. Cafes, markets, viewpoints and Lake Titicaca’s shores are all within walking distance, and it’s a perfect starting point for day trips to Isla del Sol, one of my favourite spots in Bolivia - It’s said to be the birthplace of the Incas! Be aware though that walking around Copacabana is not easy as it is yet again, very hilly! Plan enough time to explore, walk slowly and drink plenty of water.
Why Las Olas Hostel in Bolivia is a Must-Visit
For a stay that’s so much more than just a place to sleep, Las Olas Hostel in Copacabana, Bolivia, is a must. With its unforgettable views, unique rooms, and cute alpacas, it’s one of those spots that you’ll keep thinking about long after you leave - that’s a promise! My husband and I regularly share a memory we made from there and keep talking about it to everyone who asks, or didn’t ask to be honest 😝
Whether you’re road-tripping, backpacking, or just exploring Bolivia, I can’t recommend it enough. So, if you’re looking for an experience filled with so much character and charm and wouldn’t mind finding yourself in some sort of Dr. Seuss story all at once: Las Olas is the place to be!
How to Get to Las Olas Hostel in Copacabana, Bolivia
Getting to Las Olas Hostel is part of the adventure! Most travellers arrive in Copacabana from La Paz, Bolivia’s capital. You can hop on a bus or arrange a private car from La Paz, both take around 3 - 4 hours and have beautiful views along the way. There’s a ferry crossing at Tiquina where you’ll need to switch buses briefly (it can be a bit of a confusing process but you’ll manage!) - oh and definitely bring a tiny bit of cash for the crossing, some services have the crossing fee included, some haven’t. For those coming from Peru, you can catch a bus from Puno, which crosses the border and arrives in Copacabana in about 3 hours. Once you’re in Copacabana, it’s a strenuous walk up the hill (especially if you have a lot of luggage, so brace yourself). We actually took a private taxi from La Paz and our lovely driver dropped us off right outside the doorstep, however coming on a bus you will not get so lucky. The walk from the bus station is around 10 minutes.

Nestled on the edge of the Cotswolds, De Vere Cotswold Water Park offers an entirely different kind of countryside stay – one that combines the beauty of the Cotswolds with the thrill of waterside activities and lakeside dining. This is an ideal choice if you want nature, adventure AND the UK countryside all in one!

It offers stunning lakeside views and so many fun outdoor activities, from paddle boarding to kayaking. You can relax in The Old Boathouse Restaurant, which offers lakeside dining with seasonal British dishes and picturesque views. The rooms here are modern and welcoming, perfect for a cosy night in after a day out exploring. I especially loved waking up to the a view of the lake! Whether you’re up for an active weekend or a quiet lakeside retreat, this hotel shows you the best of the Cotswolds’ natural beauty. Staying here was honestly a dream come true. What makes Silica Hotel special? Trust me when I say, it’s all about the private lagoon – yes, you read that right! Guests have exclusive access to the hotel’s own geothermal lagoon, where you can float and relax without any crowds around at all. I also loved the floor-to-ceiling windows in the rooms which guarantee 24/7 views of Iceland’s unique volcanic landscape.

2. Private Lagoon Access
One of the top reasons to stay at Silica Hotel is the private lagoon, which is exclusive to hotel guests. It’s a quiet, peaceful spot where you can relax in the warm, mineral-rich waters surrounded by incredible lava fields. Trust me, it really is THAT blue! 🩵 We had the most incredible time here and it’s definitely a touch romantic, too! If you’re coming with a partner to Iceland then a stay and a soak here are an absolute must.

Yep, the hotel has a northern lights wake-up service. The Northern Lights are tricky to see, and naturally, they often appear in the middle of the night, so fear not: During your stay at Silica Hotel, you can peacefully fall asleep after having requested this service, as reception will keep an eye out for you and call you if they should appear. I was just about to snooze off when my phone rang one night during our stay, and you better believe I ran down the corridors to see the sky light up! 🤩
5. Complimentary Breakfast
One of the perks of staying at Silica Hotel is the complimentary breakfast, featuring fresh Icelandic produce; and let’s be honest, there is nothing like a really good hotel breakfast! No matter how long I do this job, I will never be tired of a hotel breakfast, and the selection at Silica Hotel was nothing short of amazing - Hands down one of my favourite breakfast spreads ever.
6. On-Site Restaurants
Not sure, but this may be one of my favourite reasons why you need to stay here. The on-site dining options at the close by Blue Lagoon are fantastic. I loved both, the Lava Restaurant for the food and views of the Blue Lagoon and the Moss Restaurant for the food of course, but also for the overall experience! At Moss Restaurant they have a farm-to-table menu that showcases the best of Icelandic ingredients, with a modern and fun twist. Think seafood, lamb, rye bread and other delicious Icelandic treats. They even offer a tasting menu, often paired with a carefully curated wine selection from their Wine Cellar, which is carved into an 800-year-old lava rock. 😍
So in summary:
If you're planning a trip to Iceland and wondering where to stay, I highly recommend Silica Hotel at the Blue Lagoon. To me, it was the perfect blend of luxury, nature, and relaxation – and the private lagoon is such a chic luxury moment, you cannot miss it! Plus, with its super convenient location near the airport, it’s ideal for both short stays and longer explorations of this beautiful country.
